HOW IT ALL BEGAN....

Trey Miller aka Tracy Brown was born in ENGLEWOOD, NJ surrounded by hip hop influences since she was a toddler. Her older brother had a successful local rap group managed by DJ Spinderella of Salt n Pepa. Surrounded by DJ's , engineers, and hip hop greats, she knew early on what her calling was. Trey Miller says " Music chose me... Not the other way around. If it wasn't for music I don't know what purpose I would have. Everything from dancing, DJ'ing, playing instruments, reading music, writing songs excites me. I can tell my story. Express myself. It came naturally. I was so shy as a child, but people wanted to see me perform. When I realized how much I touched people with the arts, I knew what my purpose was. Everything shy about me fails to exist once I hit that stage. "

By twelve, Trey Miller already had published poems and played several instruments including piano, percussion, and more. From marching band to school plays it was no surprise she was voted most musical in her class. After dominating the arts programs in Dwight Morrow High School and her community she was awarded numerous scholarships to be pursue music in college. Eventually studying music engineering at Hampton University originally aspiring to be a producer. Yet and still, the stage is where she felt she belonged. Taking her many talents and emerging as an artist Trey Miller has been compared to such greats as Queen Latifah, and MC Lyte. Ready to take the world by storm and bring back the female presence in hip hop that once had substance.
